Lisenka Vissers is Professor of Translational Genomics at Radboud university medical center, The Netherlands, with a research focus on the genetic causes of rare diseases. She aims to improve diagnostic yield for patients who remain unsolved after standard testing by identifying disease-causing variants across the entire genome, including non-coding regions, using integrated multi-omics approaches. Most recently, she has led clinical utility studies of long-read genome sequencing to enable translation of these technologies into routine diagnostic care, thereby bridging fundamental genomics with clinical decision-making and healthcare impact.
