Dr. Seung Jae Lee is a bioinformatics scientist at JS Link (formerly DNALINK) with over a decade of experience spanning software development and genomics research. He began his career as a developer of medical imaging, quality control, and energy management software, working in these fields for 10 years before transitioning to bioinformatics in 2011. At JS Link, Dr. Lee has specialized in genome assembly and analysis using long-read sequencing data, starting from the PacBio RS II platform. He has contributed to and published multiple genomics studies involving a wide range of plant and animal species. Dr. Lee earned his Ph.D. in Systems Genomics from the Graduate School of Life Sciences at Korea University. He is currently engaged in several large-scale genomics initiatives, including the construction of a Korean population-based pangenome, long-read sequencing for rare disease diagnostics, and various long-read-based genome projects across diverse species.
