Prof. Rho is currently a Professor at Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea. Her research focuses on the development of predictive models and analytical systems based on multi-omics and clinical data, with the goal of advancing precision medicine. Her research also explores the metabolic activity of the human microbiome and host-microbiome interactions.
She began her professional career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and in the Department of Biostatistics University at Buffalo, SUNY (2012-13). She joined Hanyang University in 2013. She also serves as an Associate Editor for Environmental Microbiome and as an Executive Committee Member of the Korean Society for Microbiome, the Korean Society for Bioinformatics, and the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers.
She received her B.S. in Computer Science from Ewha Womans University, Korea in 1996, her M.S. in Computer Engineering from Boston University in 2001 and her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Indiana University in 2009.
