Professor Stephen Turner is a viral immunologist in the Department of Microbiology at Monash University, and currently the Associate Director for Research Planning and Infrastructure at the Biomedical Discovery Institute. He completed his PhD at Monash and undertook postdoctoral training with Nobel Laureate Peter Doherty at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, USA. A past President of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Immunology, his research uses genomics, structural and systems biology, advanced microscopy and recombinant viral technologies to define molecular mechanisms regulating T cell responses to viral infection and vaccination.
