ABOUT THE EVENT
The Senckenberg Biodiversity Genomics Symposium is a one-day event co-organised by the LOEWE Center for Translational Biodiversity Genomics at the Senckenberg Research Institute and PacBio.
Long-read sequencing is key to generating high quality, complete, and contiguous genome assemblies that can serve as reference assemblies for various species. New protocols dramatically reduce the requirements for DNA quantity making it possible to generate long-read data from individual, small-bodied organisms.
Scientists from Europe and beyond will share their experiences using highly accurate long-read sequencing, known as HiFi sequencing, to generate reference-quality genomes of taxonomically diverse organisms, ranging from plants, lichens, insects, and snails to vertebrates to address key questions.
This event will feature a mix of scientific presentations, lightning talks, a poster session and breaks with opportunities to network with your peers.
