Based in the UK, Sukhvinder Nicklen began her career as a virologist and molecular biologist, conducting post-doctoral research in animal health. She transitioned into scientific commercial roles over two decades ago, holding positions at ThermoFisher Scientific and PerkinElmer, where she focused on reproductive health and emerging clinical applications. She has led market development strategies across diverse international markets and later applied her experience in public affairs and government advocacy to support healthcare initiatives and policy development.

In her current role at PacBio, Sukhvinder leads the Market Development Strategy for Human Genomics across EMEA, with a focus on driving clinical adoption of HiFi sequencing. Her work prioritises clinical diagnostics, particularly in rare diseases. She drives adoption by building relationships with key opinion leaders and using established reference sites such as Radboud to enable fast-following centres. This includes generating clinically relevant proof data, raising awareness of clinical utility, and supporting clinical implementation studies. She also heads HiFi Solves EMEA, a key part of PacBio’s global long-read consortium dedicated to exploring the clinical applications of HiFi sequencing, highlighting her unwavering commitment to advancing genomics.
