Dr. Devaney is a leader in molecular diagnostics with extensive expertise in the identification of disease-causing genetic variations. Currently serving as the Director of Innovation and Research at GeneDx, Dr. Devaney focuses on the integration of emerging technologies to maximize diagnostic yield and accelerate the delivery of critical genomic data to patients. Prior to his position at GeneDx, he gained significant clinical insights at the Molecular Diagnostic Lab at Children’s National Medical Center, where he specialized in developing tools to uncover complex genetic variants using next generation sequencing. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from American University and a BS in Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University.
