Michael obtained his Ph.D in Human Genetics from the University of London in 1996. He has been applying genomic technologies to answer complex biological problems for more than 20 years in both academia and commercial settings. He has extensive experience applying genomic methods to answer complex biological questions, has led genomic service provider laboratories and regularly advised on experimental design and analysis methods.

In 2023 Michael joined Yourgene Health as the Senior Director of Business Development for APAC where he continues to develop the genetic testing market, build strategic collaborations, and help with new product development.
