Dushyant Singh Baghel is a highly respected genomicist and the MD & CEO of Nucleome Informatics, which is recognized as one of Asia’s premier biotechnology laboratories. With over a decade of experience in the field, he has successfully led 109 de novo genome projects, focusing on the sequencing of endangered species, crops, and Indian human genomes. Under his leadership, Nucleome has reached remarkable achievements, including becoming the only laboratory in Asia affiliated with the Vertebrate Genome Project and being the first in India to implement Trio-Binning technology for parental chromosome assembly. He has also pioneered initiatives such as DrSeq for clinical genomics, with the ambitious goal of sequencing 300,000 patients with Inherited Retinal Disorders (IRD), and DrSeed for molecular breeding of various crops. His extensive expertise encompasses precision medicine, conservation genomics, and agrigenomics, significantly contributing to advancements in these vital areas of research.
