Liang Desheng, M.D., is a second-class professor, chief physician, and doctoral supervisor. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the Medical Genetics Research Center at Central South University and Director of the National Base for Life Science and Technology Talent Development. He also holds key positions including Chairman of the Birth Defect Prevention and Control Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medical Association and Vice President of the Medical Genetic Physician Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.​
Previously, he served as Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Medical Genetics and Invited Professor at Nagasaki University, Japan. Additionally, he was a member of the International Working Group for the Consensus on Prevention and Treatment of Birth Defects and Disabilities in Developing Countries.
