Dr. Brian Haas is a computational biologist with expertise in molecular biology, computer science, and bioinformatics. With a career spanning over two decades at institutions including The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR), J. Craig Venter Institute, and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Dr. Haas led the development of widely used open-source tools such as PASA and Trinity for transcriptome and genome analysis. Currently Head of Computational Transcriptomics at the Broad’s Methods Development Lab, his work focuses on advancing cancer transcriptome research and integrating long-read RNA sequencing into cutting-edge analysis pipelines.
