Dr. Barbara Schechinger is an accomplished commercial leader with 20+ years of experience driving revenue growth across the European life sciences and especially the genomics market. She currently serves as Director of Sales for Central & Eastern Europe at Pacific Biosciences, where she leads and develops international teams, strengthens cross-functional collaboration, and delivers results through proactive, relationship-based selling and disciplined forecasting. Together with her team and the support from all functions at PacBio she has been expanding the customer base mainly in markets like rare disease but also in microbiology, plant and animal and other areas. Before joining PacBio, she spent more than a decade at Illumina in progressively senior roles and contributed to the development of a global accounts program in EMEA. Known for her coaching mindset and high emotional intelligence, she has earned multiple top sales distinctions, including PacBio’s Pacific Circle Award and repeated recognition at Illumina.
