Jonas Demeulemeester is a biochemist and computational biologist, currently leading the Integrative Cancer Genomics Lab at the VIB Center for Cancer Biology and KU Leuven Department of Oncology in Belgium. He holds a Master’s in Biochemistry (2009) and Bioinformatics (2015), and completed a PhD in Retroviral Integration and Drug Discovery at KU Leuven. He conducted his postdoctoral research at the Francis Crick Institute, where he developed computational methods to study tumor evolution and heterogeneity, contributing to landmark cancer genomics projects such as TRACERx and PCAWG. In 2022, he established his own lab in Leuven and focuses on single-molecule and single-cell multi-omics to understand somatic evolution, tumor heterogeneity, and emergent cancer biology.
