Dr. Georgia Karadima is an Associate Professor of Biology-Neurogenetics at the 1st Department of Neurology, Medical School, NKUA. She serves as the Co-head of the Neurogenetics Unit within the same department and leads the Unit’s Neurogenetics Laboratory.
Her research focuses on the genetics of heredodegenerative disorders affecting the nervous system. She has a special interest in rare hereditary neurological disorders, including Huntington’s disease, hereditary ataxias, hereditary spastic paraplegia, and hereditary neuropathies. Her contributions to the field are reflected in over 90 published papers in international journals covering human genetics, psychogenetics, clinical neurology, and neurogenetics.
As part of her academic role, Dr Karadima is actively involved in teaching, particularly in the areas of molecular medical diagnostics, human genetics and neurogenetics.
